Hey everyone,

Welcome and Welcome Back to Ray School Rm. 411.  I am looking forward to another great year and I can’t wait to get to know each and everyone of the children and families in my class this year.  Our all encompassing focus this year will be on ‘building a community’, inside the classroom and beyond.  We will learn about different types of communites and what makes up communities, but most importantly we will learn about making a community and being a part of a community.  Some of the ways we will be doing that this year is through discussions about community, having partners, making connections between home and school, sharing about own family, child-family projects, etc …  I believe that it is important that every child in 411 feels respected, needed, safe, and a part of our classroom and our entire school community. Everything we do will fall back to how it affects us as a community.  I am really looking forward to this year and to see where the children will take this idea of community.
